Thunder Rock builders announced

D.R. Horton and Lennar were selected as builders for the first phase of the Thunder Rock development in Marble Falls. The announcement came July 6 from Centurion American Development Group, a Texas-based real estate development company owned by Mehrdad Moayedi.

“D.R. Horton and Lennar Homes are the two dominant home builders in Central Texas, which makes them an excellent fit for this project,” said Rob Romo, vice president of Centurion American, in a statement. “We are looking forward to having two nationally recognized home builders of such high caliber to build in our signature Thunder Rock development in Marble Falls.”

Phase one of the development, located at the northwest corner of U.S. 281 and Texas 71, includes a variety of single-family floor plans with homes beginning at about $250,000. Available residential lot sizes are 40 and 50 feet wide.

Later phases will consist of 50- and 60-foot-wide lots and 2- to 5-acre ranchettes.

The scope of the new development rivals that of its neighbor, Gregg Ranch, which began sales earlier this year based on its three model homes. Gregg Ranch will add 750 single-family homes and 250 multi-family residences to the area.

Thunder Rock plans include:

  • 1,966 single-family residential homes
  • 924 multi-family units
  • 150 active-adult units
  • 204,000 square feet of commercial development
  • 26-acre city sports complex with four baseball fields, four soccer fields, and a multi-purpose field
  • 10-acre recreational center at 20,000 square feet
  • linear parks with native habitat and nature trails along Flatrock Creek

“In addition to approximately 200 acres of open space within Thunder Rock, the development’s proximity to both Horseshoe Bay and key area regional attractions make it a highly desirable place to live, work and play,” Romo said in the statement.

Centurion American has been in business since 1990, developing approximately 100,000 single-family lots in North Texas communities.
