Local developer Centurion American breaks ground for huge Hill Country community

Project northwest of Austin will include almost 2,000 houses.

Farmers Branch-based property firm Centurion American Development Group has started work on its first Central Texas project, an almost 2,000-home community in Marble Falls.

The more than 1,000-acre Thunder Rock community is being built northwest of Austin on U.S. Highway 281 in Burnet County.

Local officials and Centurion American execs held a groundbreaking for the project this week.

“Centurion American Development Group is excited to have broken ground on Thunder Rock in Marble Falls — an area primed for growth,” Mehrdad Moayedi, president and CEO of Centurion American, said in a statement. “We’re ready to begin work to make this new development a great place for people to live, work and play.
